23 week baby bump update

It's time for another bump update.  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is moving along.  I'm 23 weeks, going on 24 this weekend!  The other day I was feeling so uncomfortable and I told myself that I needed to get used to being uncomfortable because I wasn't even halfway through this pregnancy yet.  Then I had to correct myself when I realized I had already hit the halfway point 3 weeks ago.

I will admit, I don't love being pregnant.  I miss having my body to myself and I hate being uncomfortable, but I will say I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can.  I know once it's over I will miss it.

How I'm feeling

I've been feeling pretty good lately.  The second trimester is for sure the best trimester.  I did get sick with a bad cold a couple weeks ago which was not fun.  I had never been sick with a cold while being pregnant before and I was pretty miserable.  It was even harder because Jack was sick too.  Luckily we are all healthy again.

About the bump

My baby bump is growing and I'm feeling it.  I've been obsessed with comparing my bump size with my first pregnancy.  It took months for my bump to show, this time around I felt like I started showing right away.  I've already gained more weight this time around.  At first, I was super freaked out by the weight gain, but now I'm trying to just relax and accept it.  I figure I will have plenty of time to get back to my normal size after the baby comes.

With my bump growing, everything is coming back to me from my first pregnancy.  The feeling of my belly stretching and the uncomfortableness is becoming real.  It's a really weird feeling having all that weight on the front of your body.  Countertops are becoming my enemy again since they are right at my bump level and it's hard for me to turn my torso.

The best thing about my belly at the moment are the movements I've been feeling.  I feel little kicks and flutters more and more.  I will say that this little girl is much more gentle than her brother so far.  Kevin still hasn't felt her kicks because every time I tell him that she's moving, she stops.  I don't mind a calmer baby though.

Preparing for baby girl

To be honest, I haven't done very much to prepare for baby girl.  This spring Kevin and I are planning on cleaning out our spare bedroom that we are currently using as an office/storage room.  We have a lot of work to do, but I think we will be able to find a way to work with the space we have in our house.  Kevin's cousin just sent me a huge bin of girl clothes, so I was very excited about that.  She has 3 girls, the first 2 are twins, so I'm pretty lucky to have some girl hand-me-downs.  I'm already browsing little girl clothes, but I'm trying not to buy anything too early.

What I'm wearing

We are getting close to spring, but not close enough.  It's still cold here in Michigan, so I have been wearing a lot of comfy cozy outfits.  I wear leggings a lot, but I'm trying to wear my maternity jeans from time to time to dress up my outfits a little more.  I can't wait for spring and summer because I plan on wearing a lot of dresses and skirts.

Here are some of my outfits I've been wearing lately.

I'm going to keep on doing the same thing I've been doing this whole pregnancy.  I'm taking it one week at a time.  I'm trying not to wish it away, but I'm also looking forward to June when I can actually meet my little girl.
