Shopping Finds- Memorial Day Thrift Store Sales

May 30, 2016

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that my favorite thing to do on national holiday's like Labor Day and Memorial Day, is to hit up my local thrift stores.  They always have half off sales, so it's a great time to stock up on a few basics.  This Memorial Day I was looking for some summer looks for me and baby.  I was not disappointed.

My favorite thrift store since I moved to Nevada is Savers.  We didn't have Savers in Michigan, so I am loving the selection they have.  They seem to have a variety of sizes and styles for everyone.

For Jack, I've been holding of on buying him clothes, because I knew I'd be able to find some cute stuff for him at Savers.   I pretty much cleared out the entire rack of all the acceptable baby boy outfits. The sad thing is that the boy selection is so much smaller than the baby girl stuff.   I got everything you see below for under $8.  That's not bad, considering one Carter outfit is usually more than that on sale.  I feel that it's smart to buy baby clothes for as little money as possible considering the fact that they grow out of them so quickly.
3 pairs of shorts - $1 a piece// 4 onesie outfits- $.75// 2 onesie tops- $.50

For me, I found a couple new sundresses.  Each dress was $3.

I also ended up buying 2 new purses.  I was just going to buy one, but they were $4 a piece so since I couldn't make up my mind, I bought them both.

As always, I like to take my new finds and put together new looks.  I really love to show how you can find some really cute things at second hand stores and mix them up with the clothes that you have already in your closet.

This is a simple Old Navy sundress.  I've been looking to add a little more color to my wardrobe, so I thought that this lime green color with tan had a summer look to it.  I thought that the dress would look perfect with my new cognac tote I bought at Savers.  I accessorized the dress with my brown belt and a pair of wedge shoes that I bought at the Good Will last year (read about that here).

I feel like you can never go wrong with a black dress, that's why I ended up buying this Target black sundress.  I know I'll be able to get a lot of use out of it.  I wore it here with my new pink tote that I also bought on my Savers trip.   I've been talking a lot about colorful purses and I felt that a bright pink purse would definitely add a pop of color to my basic looks.

Those are my thrift store looks for summer.  I'm sure I'll be back at Savers at the end of the summer too!  I just can't resist the prices.
