March Instagram Round Up

Happy April!  I can't believe that March has come and gone.  March in the Midwest is always a curve ball.  You never know if it will start warming up or if you will get a spring snow storm.  Luckily this March was a pleasant surprise weather wise.  I'm loving the warmer days and the sunshine!  We've been able to get out to the park more often which has been so nice with the kids.

Organizing Your Small Closet on a Budget

Organizing Your Small Closet on a Budget

Nothing makes me happier than a clean organized closet.  I feel like people often overlook the fact that having an organized closet will not only keep things tidy, but it will also help you save money.  When you have a place for everything, you know where to find it.  If you know what you have in your closet, then you are less likely to go out and buy something new.
Affordable Easter Basket Gift Ideas For Young Children

When I was a kid growing up in the 80's and 90's, my Easter basket was always filled with lots and lots of candy.  We had jelly beans, chocolate eggs, Reese's peanut butter eggs, Cadbury eggs and of course a big chocolate bunny that usually took us about a month to eat.  Occasionally we would get a little gift in the basket that wasn't candy, but most years it was all about the sugar.  I don't have a problem with my kids having candy (expect for the baby of course), but I do try to limit it when I can.  That's why when I put together my kid's Easter baskets I try to do more non-candy gifts than candy.

Who here knows the book Pete the Cat I love My White Shoes?  I always think of the song that goes along with that book whenever I wear white shoes. 😂  White sneakers are always a must have mom-wardrobe staple for me.  I love how classic they are and they go with pretty much anything.

Anna 9 Month Baby Update

Anna 9 Month Baby Update

Anna is 9 months!  It's hard to believe how fast it's going by.  I thought my first baby grew up way too fast, but I was wrong.  I feel like everything is going by so much faster the second time around.  It's crazy to me how quickly things change from month to month when you have a baby.  She's always doing something new.

My Must Have Breastfeeding Clothes
I can’t believe I have an almost 9-month-old baby and I haven’t done a post yet on breastfeeding clothes.  Each day I remind myself that this breastfeeding experience is nearing the end.  With this being my last baby, I have some mixed emotions on letting go of breastfeeding.  I can tell I'm getting ready to be done.  I never planned on going past 12 months, so as she gets older I'm starting to do more bottles.  Even though I'm looking forward to getting my body completely back to myself, I'm sad to let it go.  It just reminds me that the baby stage goes by so fast and you really need to take it all in while you can.

9 Spring Outfit Ideas: When it Still Feels Like Winter
I can't believe it's finally March!  We seem to be getting out of the winter and heading closer to spring each day, however, if you live in a cold place like the Midwest, it still will be some time until you can start wearing all those cute spring clothes.  I try not to let the weather hold me back from dressing for the season.  Just because it's still cold out, doesn't mean that I can't bring some spring into my wardrobe.
The Perfect Spring Dress

I feel like I keep seeing this dress everywhere on Instagram lately.  Usually I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon and buy the same dress every other blogger is sharing, but I knew I wanted to buy this $20 Target dress when I first saw it.  Target had a very similar dress last spring that I wanted to buy so bad.  It was bump-friendly and nursing-friendly, but then the pandemic happened I put shopping on hold for the final months of my pregnancy and I never ended up buying the dress.  When I saw they had a similar dress this season I knew I wanted it!

How to Wear a Yellow Pleated Skirt

in , , by Katie Margaret, February 24, 2021

How to Wear a Yellow Pleated SkirtI've been loving pleated skirts lately.  A few months ago I found this yellow pleated skirt at ThredUP and I've been dying to share it on the blog.  I'm also dying to actually wear it somewhere.  I think that it would be the perfect teacher skirt.  It makes me want to go out and get a new teaching job just so I can wear this skirt.  But since I'm not going to actually do that, I guess I will share it with all of you incase you are looking for a little work wear inspiration.

Thrift store fashion

People often tell me that they love my thrift finds, but they never find anything good at the thrift store themselves.  I totally get it.  Thrift shopping can be intimidating at first.  It is a skill you have to learn.  You can't expect to walk into a thrift store with one thing in mind and find exactly what you're looking for.  You have to keep an open mind when thrift shopping.  What I found out is that nothing beats the price you pay at a thrift store and once you find that perfect thrift find you will be hooked!  There is something for everyone if you are willing to take the time to hunt for it.
